Cape Town's community driving school
Since 2011, Ubuntu Driving Academy has helped over 8,500 Capetonians earn their licence — with patience, professionalism, and a genuine belief that everyone deserves to drive.
Our story
Ubuntu Driving Academy started in 2011 with one car and one mission: to make quality driving instruction accessible across Cape Town — from the CBD to Khayelitsha, Claremont to Bellville.
Today we're a team of certified instructors with a 92% first-time pass rate, but our heart hasn't changed. We still believe that a driver's licence opens doors — to jobs, to family, to freedom — and that everyone deserves a patient, supportive teacher to help them get there.
What drives us
Ubuntu — I am because we are
We believe driving is freedom. Our mission is to make that freedom accessible to every Capetonian, regardless of background.
Patient, people-first
We meet you where you are. No shouting, no rushing — just calm, structured teaching that builds real confidence.
Excellence as standard
Grade-A certified instructors, modern cars, and a curriculum mapped to the K53. We hold ourselves to a higher bar.
